The international airports of Brussels, Antwerp and Charleroi are located at resp. 20, 25, 55km. The railway station Brussel-Midi is also the stop of the HST “Thalys” and “Eurostar” and the motorway E19 (BrusselsAntwerp) is only 7km away of from the rowing course.(map: see page 6)
The rowing course
The rowing course has the FISA “A” label and is part of the Sport Vlaanderen Center Willebroek-Hazewinkel. The standard 2200m long Albano system allows for fair races on 8 lanes. Being host of many FISA competitions (including the 2014 European Rowing Junior Championships, the 2006 U23 Worlds, the 2015 and 2000 FISA Masters and the 1997 Junior Worlds), the Sport Vlaanderen Center Willebroek-Hazewinkel has already hosted 4 previous editions of the Coupe de la Jeunesse (2010 – 2003 – 1994 – 1990).
Start and finish towers are equipped as presently required by FISA. Restaurant, dressing rooms, toilets and showers, boat houses and reception building are equipped to fulfill all needs of the delegations. Large parking area for visitor cars and boat trailers are available.
In and outside boat racks, beside 4 large (dis)embarking and 2 technical pontoons.
